Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Clicking the middle mouse button does not have an effect. The attached
patch fixes this issue.

Thank you for the patch, I've applied it, with a small modification to  
also change the EV_BUTTON to use [e buttonNumber] in the otherMouse  
case.
