After consulting bug#76205 
<https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnu-emacs/2025-02/msg01201.html> , 
a workaround is to use jedi completion (add export 
PYTHONSTARTUP="$(python -m jedi repl)" to bash_rc).
Original problem persists for emacs 30.x .
