It should say mail-yank-original, not message-yank-original.

As well as mail-yank-prefix, and not message-yank-prefix.

And mail-fill-yanked-message, and not message-fill-yanked-message.


The actual bug is: by default, Emacs inserts the empty string (and not '>') 
in front of each line of the cited text.
