This bug makes Emacs very difficult to use. It periodically locks up,
with this message in the echo area. I can C-g out of it, but then I
lose my typeahead.
I tried turning off Semantic with M-x semantic-mode again, but this
message keeps coming back. I checked, and global-semanticdb-minor-mode
is nil -- I think disabling semantic-mode disabled it. I expected this
to disable the attempts to save.
This error happened 3 times while composing this message.
I think I am going to have to restart Emacs :-(

Hi Eric,
Have you come across this bug before? It doesn't look familiar to me.
Tom, could you try to describe what parts of CEDET you enabled? Are you
using EDE in addition to Semantic?

Yes, I've seen this before. Here is a thread:
http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.cedet/3995
Kai had a hook that expected a buffer to always exist in his c mode
hook. Semantic's parser has to create c mode buffers with no file in
order to build up text from macros to parse it. The error gets caught
in the wrong place, and bogus stuff gets into the macro table that only
turns up later.
The latest semantic-c.el in CEDET/CVS, as the thread suggests, will ask
if the user wants to debug their hooks if this happens.
semantc-lex-spp.el in CEDET/CVS has a little more error checking there too.
My latest papers for the next 6 months should have arrived at the FSF a
while ago, so if you need to merge anything, it should be good.

I just did M-x semantic-mode with the defaults.
I am not using EDE.

If I understand correctly, then I don't think I have this problem.
I tried making a c-mode buffer without a file, and I didn't see any
error. I used:
(let ((buf (get-buffer-create "Zardoz")))
(with-current-buffer buf
(c-mode)))
I also looked at my various c-mode (and related) hooks and they all do
seem to check buffer-file-name before using it.
Is there something else I ought to try?

I don't know what's the current status of this bug but I am also
experiencing it for some time.
It is, as the OP notes, quite annoying at it locks Emacs up.
Can I provide any further information to help debug this? (but it seems
I have somewhat the same config as the OP)
