Message #5 received at submit <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
Severity: wishlist
The quickurl.el package "provides a simple method of inserting a URL
based on the text at point in the current buffer". This seems to
duplicate what built-in abbrevs, skeletons, tempo, etc. can do, not to
mention the plethora of third-party packages (e.g. yasnippet on GNU
ELPA), but it has a more awkward and specific interface.
I suggest we obsolete it.

I have no objections to obsoleting it.
