I see
jidanni-truncate-lines is a variable defined in `/home/jidanni/.emacs.elc'.
Its value is nil

OK, I click on the file name, and I get
find-library-name: Can't find library /home/jidanni/.emacs.el

It should know that it is called .emacs.

emacs-version "22.2.1"

Hope I didn't already report this...
