Hi,

at the Chemnitzer Linuxtage fair I just let

M-x TeX-auto-generate RET

run for a visitor and it barfed because ~/.emacs.d/auctex/auto was not
yet existing.  Seems like if a default is proposed, it should be able to
deal with it.

Sorry I am a bit vague on this: don't have this computer available to me
any more and am short of time.  Don't know the version either.
