Subject: gzip: --rsyncable not documented

Hi,

--rsyncable option of gzip is nowhere documented. Looking at:

http://www.gnu.org/software/gzip/manual/gzip.html
http://www.gnu.org/software/gzip/manual/gzip.txt

or man gzip. Only for gzip -h:

--rsyncable Make rsync-friendly archive

Could someone give mi a hint where to find documentation for this
option? Or write down a paragraph or 2-3 sentences about it?

Thank you for any answer

Jan

IIRC this is a patch added in RH/Fedora, not part of official gzip.
The best documentation is then probably the patch inside the RH
package.
