All exporters are new and I expect the below command to report something

Stop this. That discussion you mention clearly indicated that the
maintainers think there's no bug here, and won't fix it.

When a library is distributed with Emacs it needs to conform to certain
conventions.
I use
M-x customize-changed
to explore new options.
It is ONE of the standard ways to explore new features.
You are really willing to let go of standard conventions and practices
seems to me like the case of a tail wagging the dog.
Look at the facts and make up your mind.

I already did, as did everyone else. You are the only exception.

I am not the only exception. See this post, where the change in the
prefix is affecting existing customization. One of the suggestions I
made was to establish an alias or an obsolete alias for defcustoms.
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2013-11/msg00601.html
,---- From that post:
|
| The name of the variable is org-export-with-sub-superscripts.
|
| Maybe org-use-sub-superscripts is a remnant that should be deleted: not
| sure why it is still around. I note that it is defined and used in
| org.el, whereas org-export-with-sub-superscripts is defined and used in
| ox.el.

In my frank opinion, you fall in to the errro of mixing the message and
the medium.
This bug was dissmissed merely because it came from me...
Bastien was not involved with exporters (in any sense) and he wants to
avoid grunt work by being argumentative with me. Now, if you are siding
with his arguments and not make up your mind, you are just being
whimsical.
It was rude of you to close the bug of which you nothing about.

I enhanced the docstrings of `org-export-with-sub-superscripts' and
`org-use-sub-superscripts' to explain the decoupling of these two
variables since 8.0, and I fixed the :version and :version-package.
Thanks for the heads up.

It was rude of you to close all your existing bugs. Did it cross your
mind that maybe people already started working on those? This is not
a playground for your ego trips.

You are good at PR. There are more variables that need work...

Nobody cares for your "points" if you're pulling stunts like closing all
bugs you've opened. I for one am done talking to you.
