I guess I was wrong about `Send Mail (with Gnus Message)'.
It is operational in my case - it simply makes use of my
external mail client.

The bug in this case is the misleading menu item name.
It should say only `Send Mail', not also `(with Gnus Message)'.

But again, if not too onerous, the UI should test whether the
user actually has sending mail from Emacs configured, and
disable the item if not.
