Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a new file, edit it, save it.
2. Type C-x vv and select "RCS" as backend.
3. Type C-x vv.

Then, Emacs hangs idefinitely.

It looks like a duplicate of bug#13610.
It should be fixed now.
