Does it hang if you just run `emacs -Q' ?
If not, what are the minimum steps starting from that state to make it hang?
Can you interrupt it with ctrl-g?
If so, set debug-on-quit non-nil and post the resulting backtrace.

Does it help to try the latest nightly rather than 24.2?
