Message #5 received at submit <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
(emacs) Tags has this:
The Semantic package provides another way to generate and use tags,
separate from the `etags' facility. *Note Semantic::.
I don't see how this is helpful, and seems quite misleading.
Following that link you get to an overview of Semantic (with nothing
about tags), with a link to the Semantic manual. In the Semantic
manual, `i' finds nothing appropriate having to do with tags.
Just where is the info in the Semantic manual about "another way to
generate and use tags, separate from the `etags' facility"?
Please remove or rephrase this reference, or point directly to the
pertinent doc if such exists.

Message #8 received at 12683 <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
The subject line is I guess incorrect. There apparently is content in the
Semantic manual about tags. But it is not indexed, so just sending someone to
the manual is not appropriate here. (And of course, the index should be beefed
up to help with tags.)

Semantic is a pretty big and complicated package, and just pointing the
user at the Tags node in the Semantic manual doesn't seem to be more
helpful than the current reference.

Then we need to find the right node to cross-reference. That is no
reason to close the bug.
The point is to BE more helpful than the current reference, which
just tosses the user into a swamp of Semantic doc.
It is up to Emacs (which has now incorporated Semantic) to HELP
the user here.
If that means spending some time to find the best Semantic manual
node to cross-reference, so be it.
No one said that fixing bugs is as simple as closing them without
bothering. This should be left open until it is fixed.
Did not alter fixed versions and reopened.
