No. I looked into other cases where this does not seem to be a problem 
and this seems solve it:

"$(THISDIR)/$(dot)$(dot)/lib-src/$(OBJ)/make-docfile" -d . -g 
$(SOME_MACHINE_OBJECTS) $(obj) > gl-tmp

It actually didn't like the `..'.
