When I try and reply to a message in the summary or message buffer using
r, R, f, or F, the original message is not included and quoted as used
to be in previous versions of Gnus.

When I type R on a message, I get the following buffer (minus dashed
lines):

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sivaram Neelakantan <nsivaram.net <at> gmail.com> writes:

Nothing more, no mail headers or anything. I get similar behaviour when
using F. With r and f, I get mail headers as per usual with no original
message quoting (which is to be expected I think).

R is bound to:

   R runs the command gnus-summary-reply-with-original

F is bound to:
   F runs the command gnus-article-followup-with-original

Here is my gnus configuration:

(setq user-mail-address "bsamograd <at> interalia.com")
(setq user-full-name "Burton Samograd")
(setq gnus-select-method '(nnimap "PRIVATE"))
(setq gnus-secondary-select-methods '((nntp "news.gmane.org")))

I'm unable to reproduce this. Are you sure you don't have any further
customisations?

Lars,

Yes, that was the only gnus customization that I have in my .emacs
file. I also ran emacs -q, only evaluated those gnus configuration
lines, ran gnus and tried to reply to a message. I still had the same
problem.

I am running the git version of emacs pulled a couple of days ago.

How recent is the git mirror?

It's hosted on savanna and it looks to be pretty close to the bzr
repository but I can't say exactly, but I think they're kept pretty much
in sync.

Look at some file stamps.

I think the git mirror can be weeks old sometimes.

Lars,

Sorry, I don't know what you mean.

> I think the git mirror can be weeks old sometimes.

When I did the pull I checked the last update both on the git and bzr
repositories and they were the same, so I think that the version I have
running was at least synced when I downloaded it.

Look at the files and see how old they are. If you have no .el files
younger than a few hours, your installation is outdated.
