Message #5 received at submit <at> debbugs.gnu.org (full text, mbox):
When yanking fontified text, e.g. source code, into the minibuffer, the
yanked text remains fontified in certain situations, e.g. when using grep.
Recipe:
emacs -Q
Open source file, e.g. alloc.c
Select a fontified piece of text, e.g. #include
M-w
M-x grep
C-y
The text #include in the minibuffer appears fontified per the active
color theme.

It is
a) inconsistent, because it does not happen everywhere, e.g. it does not
yank fontified text in isearch.
b) just plain unnecessary and distracting to have fontified text in
Emacs user interface dialogs.

See user option `yank-excluded-properties'.
You can set it to `t' if you like.
Added tag(s) notabug.
