Speedbar seems to have some invisible characters at the start, and then an image, and I think that's what's confusing Emacs here. If it has been just an image, Emacs usually handles that fine. Here's a simpler recipe to reproduce: (dotimes (i 5) (insert (propertize "a" 'invisible t) (propertize "c" 'display (find-image '((:type xpm :file "search.xpm")))) (format " foo %s\n" i))) If we don't have the invisible text before the image, then motion commands work as expected. -- (domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.) bloggy blog: http://lars.ingebrigtsen.no From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Tue Dec 08 09:46:42 2020 Received: (at control) by debbugs.gnu.org; 8 Dec 2020 14:46:42 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:57070 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1kmeGI-0004RQ-9i for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Tue, 08 Dec 2020 09:46:42 -0500 Received: from quimby.gnus.org ([95.216.78.240]:51622) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1kmeGF-0004JO-9q for control@debbugs.gnu.org; Tue, 08 Dec 2020 09:46:39 -0500 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; q=dns/txt; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gnus.org; s=20200322; h=Subject:From:To:Message-Id:Date:Sender:Reply-To:Cc: MIME-Version:Content-Type:Content-Transfer-Encoding:Content-ID: Content-Description:Resent-Date:Resent-From:Resent-Sender:Resent-To:Resent-Cc :Resent-Message-ID:In-Reply-To:References:List-Id:List-Help:List-Unsubscribe: List-Subscribe:List-Post:List-Owner:List-Archive; bh=ka6jlkUMCtGLwZYFd89ij6sYmAOqbR3Ep1omhzGh+5c=; b=F5CiOP7kwGhvlcxoUroKXqwO0K td6n9X0ud3+6UZ44GBUvchasK3Fh9yH/p9PS2ZAShsgn4Xm+L0E3lKRmtuu3caS37rAvrRtwuNci0 fkVf/LHfUhjpQuW/uRMs9A9JaKtvgiCbGwELz8dKbTnxztl3XZ94eKFQrNm0VEz99nBo=; Received: from cm-84.212.202.86.getinternet.no ([84.212.202.86] helo=xo) by quimby.gnus.org with esmtpsa (TLS1.3:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.92) (envelope-from ) id 1kmeG7-0003BC-KT for control@debbugs.gnu.org; Tue, 08 Dec 2020 15:46:33 +0100 Date: Tue, 08 Dec 2020 15:46:30 +0100 Message-Id: <87mtyoice1.fsf@gnus.org> To: control@debbugs.gnu.org From: Lars Ingebrigtsen Subject: control message for bug #9092 X-Spam-Report: Spam detection software, running on the system "quimby.gnus.org", has NOT identified this incoming email as spam.
