From: Christopher Howard <christopher <at> librehacker.com> To: bug-guix <at> gnu.org Subject: gdm non-responsive Date: Tue, 06 May 2025 21:10:17 -0800[Message part 3 (text/plain, inline)]Hello. I upgraded one of my systems today after not upgrading it for around six months. The boot process seems to go normally, but when I get to gdm to login, gdm is non-responsive. The mouse cursor moves, but trying to press buttons or menus has no effect. I can still switch to the virtual terminals, login there, and run software like Emacs in the terminal.[dmesg.txt (text/plain, attachment)][greeter.log (text/plain, inline)](--) Log file renamed from "/var/lib/gdm/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.pid-317.log" to "/var/lib/gdm/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log" X.Org X Server 1.21.1.15 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Current Operating System: Linux nightshade 6.14.4-gnu #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC 1 x86_64 Kernel command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/gnu/store/scadmd5sz11ycwqhpw8y1vids6j70m3q-linux-libre-6.14.4/bzImage root=/dev/mapper/cryptroot gnu.system=/gnu/store/nkk4mw162sighyx83b2s4c0spg2skjki-system gnu.load=/gnu/store/nkk4mw162sighyx83b2s4c0spg2skjki-system/boot cpufreq.default_governor=conservative modprobe.blacklist=usbmouse, usbkbd quiet Current version of pixman: 0.42.2 Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org to make sure that you have the latest version. It doesn't feel worth more of my time to troubleshoot GDM on this computer, which mainly I use just for checking my e-mail. So I'm going to close this bug. -- Christopher Howard
