As explained in https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=55871#41, 
the option vc-git-print-log-follow is not recommended anymore.

Try resetting it to nil and using the new buttons to jump across renames 
when needed (bottom of the buffer).
