  r runs the command Man-follow-manual-reference, which is an
  interactive compiled Lisp function in `man.el'.

  It is bound to r.

  (Man-follow-manual-reference REFERENCE)

  Get one of the manpages referred to in the "SEE ALSO" section.
  Specify which REFERENCE to use; default is based on word at point.

OK, but I see this reference starting me in the face

  SEE ALSO
         WWW::Mechanize

but Man-follow-manual-reference doesn't, like it or not.
