Ah.. you also need to configure NPM. Mine is set as following:

mkdir -p ~/.config/npm
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/npm
echo "prefix=/home/muradm/.local/share/npm" > ~/.config/npm/config

Then you can use "npm install -g ...".
