More precisely, I have more or less this layout : tmpfs: /, $HOME vfat32: /boot/efi btrfs: /var/guix, /gnu/store, /var/lib, /boot ... + several directories under $HOME That means that at startup, I won't have anything in /etc nor $HOME basically. To deploy guix home properly, I run a pam_exec on login which symlinks /var/guix/profiles/per-user/${USER}/guix-home && current-guix to their expected places, then runs the home activation script, and then logins. It is a bit circumvoluted, but it worked properly on my side on guix@478b9ccea8. Do you see a reason why your patches could break my user login? I can at least confirm that the $PATH for my $USER is not set properly after login after these patches, before it was. -- Best regards, Nicolas Graves From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Thu Dec 19 06:32:16 2024 Received: (at 74967) by debbugs.gnu.org; 19 Dec 2024 11:32:16 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:37712 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1tOElM-0002ZD-A8 for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 19 Dec 2024 06:32:16 -0500 Received: from confino.investici.org ([93.190.126.19]:42419) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1tOElK-0002Z3-2z for 74967@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 19 Dec 2024 06:32:15 -0500 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=autistici.org; s=stigmate; t=1734607932; bh=j0f+HtzoOIA0GKdAqE8v/jGdnsGNMSB9iO1KVbeIhKY=; h=Date:Subject:To:Cc:References:From:In-Reply-To:From; b=STuDHZbasDoNzj+l5Yrkzj63MFCgqbswf8PL4Tlnc9Xph/SofUTNYHgsS2c8ndpnS l8Z+6v6fpMp1Kps24vzyty9ouTntnDjubjhVvTiumr+RqLTnKSUEtg8t/Wa4qmUySg 2qE6H2dlO4RE4KagX/GFs8acUYZpUV6WE0YW2G/M= Received: from mx1.investici.org (unknown [127.0.0.1]) by confino.investici.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4YDT0r1Bfnz113q; Thu, 19 Dec 2024 11:32:12 +0000 (UTC) Received: from [93.190.126.19] (mx1.investici.org [93.190.126.19]) (Authenticated sender: goodoldpaul@autistici.org) by localhost (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 4YDT0r05ZVz113l; Thu, 19 Dec 2024 11:32:11 +0000 (UTC) Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="------------nxNV0OnOv5RKrIxHc8GN7reN" Message-ID: <16590227-48f1-474e-bcb7-07011b33fde0@autistici.org> Date: Thu, 19 Dec 2024 12:32:11 +0100 MIME-Version: 1.0 User-Agent: Icedove Daily Subject: Re: About /etc/subuid and /etc/subgid commits To: Nicolas Graves , 74967@debbugs.gnu.org References: <871py4qaj9.fsf@ngraves.fr> Content-Language: en-US From: paul In-Reply-To: <871py4qaj9.fsf@ngraves.fr> X-Spam-Score: -0.7 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 74967 Cc: =?UTF-8?Q?Ludovic_Court=C3=A8s?= X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -1.7 (-) This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------nxNV0OnOv5RKrIxHc8GN7reN Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Nicolas, apologies for breaking your system :( Is is possible for you to try and bisect the history to find the culprit commit?
