Thanks for the report, this isn't really a crash -- it's the program protecting you from doing something bad to the disk. hybrid iso 'disklabels' are not meant to be edited. The combine several things into one so that they can boot multiple places, but aren't supported as an actual disk label. Brian -- Brian C. Actually parted brakes drive, because the "rm 2" command instantly removes the partition and saves the changes, and next command mkpart crashes the app. I expect parted would change the mac or msdos partition map, so I can change the rest manually. Or even better, that parted would change msdos by default which is used by kernel by default (not mac partition) From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Thu Nov 21 10:57:56 2024 Received: (at 74392-close) by debbugs.gnu.org; 21 Nov 2024 15:57:56 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:51412 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1tE9Z6-0001NH-HP for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 21 Nov 2024 10:57:56 -0500 Received: from us-smtp-delivery-124.mimecast.com ([170.10.129.124]:50077) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1tE9Z4-0001N9-0C for 74392-close@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 21 Nov 2024 10:57:54 -0500 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=redhat.com; s=mimecast20190719; t=1732204673; h=from:from:reply-to:subject:subject:date:date:message-id:message-id: to:to:cc:cc:mime-version:mime-version:content-type:content-type: in-reply-to:in-reply-to:references:references; bh=Tk6fqNaq/deu4EV/nC7PyK/ol5yfJDGECHmtnm2Ipks=; b=YfYYtna+qGcNAAz1z7UpciuVgBFiN7v3t1FbnGQWPuBRo6D1TlKfkiKD9C0dPKGgW6hgX3 ZyazQmYpg7ZsiFJbXX1rvFesKrRJiJtqAQYsvTisZqB6/S38GXzoOacrIWiVmN9ui+wYVC hcgAttqO15NQx5H7FlzsaIQabxu3H6g= Received: from mail-pl1-f197.google.com (mail-pl1-f197.google.com [209.85.214.197]) by relay.mimecast.com with ESMTP with STARTTLS (version=TLSv1.3, cipher=TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384) id us-mta-435-HEgdrwI-OPGdyKSL7AiCnw-1; Thu, 21 Nov 2024 10:57:52 -0500 X-MC-Unique: HEgdrwI-OPGdyKSL7AiCnw-1 X-Mimecast-MFC-AGG-ID: HEgdrwI-OPGdyKSL7AiCnw Received: by mail-pl1-f197.google.com with SMTP id d9443c01a7336-21248e92f2fso1791515ad.0 for <74392-close@debbugs.gnu.org>; Thu, 21 Nov 2024 07:57:51 -0800 (PST) X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20230601; t=1732204671; x=1732809471; h=in-reply-to:content-disposition:mime-version:references:message-id :subject:cc:to:from:date:x-gm-message-state:from:to:cc:subject:date :message-id:reply-to; bh=Tk6fqNaq/deu4EV/nC7PyK/ol5yfJDGECHmtnm2Ipks=; b=p+e2uJXWcqHL2GoAA3oPEUte9suPdqftwa2YImms1VNVg2j80Z4hAGZLKfWAEbZfgV JSBB06igfU1HJDXhhdHVQ+AXfm8nDIMRNoJQXbCWTUrfmV7Zn5Xue9K7Aivu76q6Wsl7 lJoBYGsk3YEJk9EJ1ZU4mBX4Kxbel6V7CQeWe6oxUA93ZGlhFeM8xCdK+p5agyyUcUVM fyHWylGLoE8CEm46YuUlf+hJ2VlL1cMHxjkWltKisi0Je50BrJWW1kRK4Fx940vHcKcw qRdudWICf9xD1hfx3Rm+6My3G6NfsrYVlFMwfzrJam+X1CRD+Q3pYElZ8QYKF/0oHORa hQKA== X-Gm-Message-State: AOJu0YxlH0YMxe+QhuhwynSXVWjhdnhOofw7a4D/iniSHERj7g81GrLi KmOiaqul1JsyHWL/MY0+A+RD+cbCbwIU2fq2nwOyl4+pFPW40W4lB/yMtOBkC2XzR5wHA5u3A8y At+rGyiWrobpJUwGeVxg2FxCZm1OONm0L3EAcWPlLHZGOG4J+iHGHh1F/+WYy X-Gm-Gg: ASbGncsT1fznOKRNuG1ThFCRYmp/D6bjIrtxsfGwjHeqB5ldHaOTLZBXiI6KNuYwE+C 1i/vo+JBxNRVpGoFlA30OgiAJ3gtP0/laBqxn9TjPIYgM1qv6RJl5is1UO6kKNu/HcQjMW3gvDk bdkeMiyUB5b88ojcdW4CRlVTtF2nGOG/wKlS3Fa9lPHwZTavdt/oGd210aYO2GArRW8gmVslpRi 9r21XTnWJdy93J69aAph6PtElZxSICy3nEXMiQNIVRO3KdAr7OASBWgLMUn9QUyb5Zw4kJwU4Ex 37IGLr3e3W1NaQ== X-Received: by 2002:a05:6a21:998d:b0:1d8:f2a2:23ee with SMTP id adf61e73a8af0-1ddae5dbde5mr4985920637.4.1732204670911; Thu, 21 Nov 2024 07:57:50 -0800 (PST) X-Google-Smtp-Source: AGHT+IECkP6LrVQuC2lCUscRBT2a66sOUTgc3sn1S3U1MHBhHvEToZ5EVZxtjWKDAABoqAIl0/86Fw== X-Received: by 2002:a05:6a21:998d:b0:1d8:f2a2:23ee with SMTP id adf61e73a8af0-1ddae5dbde5mr4985908637.4.1732204670538; Thu, 21 Nov 2024 07:57:50 -0800 (PST) Received: from ohop.brianlane.com (c-24-16-250-124.hsd1.wa.comcast.net. That's not great, I'll look into maybe detecting hybridiso and returning an error. Thanks, Brian -- Brian C.
