Then try this:

  • Uninstall AUCTeX 13.x and/or 14.x via package interface
  • Make sure there is no AUCTeX directory under ~/.emacs.d/elpa/
  • Close Emacs and open a new session
  • Do M-x toggle-debug-on-error RET
  • Install AUCTeX 14.0.3 via package inferface
  • Send to this list what the lisp debugger says
