Not against this but I'd like to understand why it is needed.  All apps that I've seen treat shift-tab as different from tab, whether this is internally called "backtab" or whatever.  Can someone explain why the mapping S-tab -> tab is present in emacs?  Or is this resulting from something other issue specific to the NS port?
