Subject: [PATCH 0/2] Update matio

The two patches update matio to its most recent version and replace its
hdf5 input. Both the old and the new version build with our standard hdf5
(@1.10) and do not need @1.8. I have checked that the dependent scilab
still builds (but itself requires hdf5 <at> 1.8 as input).
