What is the bug, exactly?  Is it just that the mini-window gets
resized back and forth in some scenario?  Or is it something else?

Right, so I don't think this aspect is very relevant to the decision
whether to backport the fix.

Sounds scary.  I'd prefer to leave it on master at this time.  Unless
the bug it fixes is more than just resizing of the mini-window.
