It shows some signs of youth using: Emacs 23 Ubuntu 8.10 When in a serial-term buffer, I cannot use the normal commands "write-file", nor navigate the buffer as usual. If I use edit/select all and then edit/cut. The scrolling mechanism is broken. The cursor remains at the top line and all older lines scroll out of view. There's probably more, but this is a good place to start. Thanks for all of your work. I'm not quite sure what bug you're seeing here. If you `M-x serial-term', you end up with a buffer in `term-mode', which is a mode where mane normal Emacs editing commands are disabled. For instance, `C-x C-w' doesn't work. So unless I'm misreading you, there's no bug here, and I'm closing this bug report. If there's a bug here that I'm not seeing, please reopen this bug report. -- (domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.) bloggy blog: http://lars.ingebrigtsen.no From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Wed Aug 21 19:48:20 2019 Received: (at control) by debbugs.gnu.org; 21 Aug 2019 23:48:20 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:36815 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1i0aKy-0001AC-6v for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Wed, 21 Aug 2019 19:48:20 -0400 Received: from quimby.gnus.org ([80.91.231.51]:45380) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1i0aKw-0001A3-1K for control@debbugs.gnu.org; Wed, 21 Aug 2019 19:48:19 -0400 Received: from 77.18.59.87.tmi.telenormobil.no ([77.18.59.87] helo=sandy) by quimby.gnus.org with esmtpsa (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.89) (envelope-from ) id 1i0aKs-0007iY-VI for control@debbugs.gnu.org; Thu, 22 Aug 2019 01:48:17 +0200 Date: Wed, 21 Aug 2019 16:48:11 -0700 Message-Id: <8736huull0.fsf@mouse.gnus.org> To: control@debbugs.gnu.org From: Lars Ingebrigtsen Subject: control message for bug #6243 X-Spam-Report: Spam detection software, running on the system "quimby.gnus.org", has NOT identified this incoming email as spam.
