 Hello,

i was to emulate "emacs*reverseVideo: true" under MS-Windows and rant
in some dark corners of `invert-face'.

Here my observations:

0. emacs -Q

1. M-x invert-face RET cursor RET

   MS-Windows: no effect

   FreeBSD: no effect

2. M-x invert-face RET default RET

MS-Windows: inverts only the background color, not the cursor face, which
implies that cursor disappears in almost cases (buffer sections).

   FreeBSD: inverts both

3. M-x invert-face RET cursor RET

MS-Windows: invert cursor face as expected

   FreeBSD: no effect

Tested under 23.1, 23.2 und the trunk version.

What is the difference between the --reverse-video command line option (aka -rv
aka -r) and the emacs*reverseVideo:on X resource?

Nothing. That was only a trigger. My problem report is about
invert-face.
