For additional troubleshooting, I modified my system profile by adding (kernel (specification->package "linux-libre <at> 5.15")) to use the older kernel version. I am able to boot into that modified profile without issues. So clearly there is something broken in relationship to the upgrade to linux-libre 6.0.10.
