In GNU Emacs 23.1.92.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2010-02-20 on LENNART-69DE564
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (3.4) --no-opt --cflags -Ic:/g/include
-fno-crossjumping'

Emacs manual, node Mark Ring:

Each buffer remembers 16 previous locations of the mark,
  in the "mark ring".

Wrong; misleading. This gives users the impression that this max is hard-coded,
whereas we should be letting them know that they can customize it.

It should say something like this:

Each buffer remembers `mark-ring-max' previous locations
of the mark, in the "mark ring". User option `mark-ring-max'
  is 16 by default.

Similarly, we should mention the same things (16 default, but an option) for
`global-mark-ring-max' in node Global Mark Ring.
