Could/should this be generalized to more than two variants?

The gruvbox theme, for example, has these variants:

    gruvbox-dark-hard
    gruvbox-dark-medium
    gruvbox-dark-soft
    gruvbox-light-hard
    gruvbox-light-medium
    gruvbox-light-soft

But I'm not sure what a reasonable user interface would look like.
