Indeed, I think this commit was intended for ‘core-updates’, where
‘libtool’ *is* 2.4.7, and not for ‘master’.

I’m reverting it on ‘master’.  Marius, we’ll have to make sure not to
reintroduce it on the next merge into ‘core-updates’.
