I see that you closed this bug (#5709).

OK, but #5122 should remain open, to make clear that this still isn't solved
satisfactorily. Being able to customize it and upping the default value are not
complete answers.

As Stefan said near the current end of the #5122 thread:

  Clearly, the only real answer is to get rid of
  blink-matching-paren-distance.  We could try and do that,
  maybe using while-no-input.

There is also other discussion in that thread about the general problem and what
might be done about it.
