After being happy to see libtool 2.4.7 being released I was sad to see 
that this issue is still there (and in git repo).

BTW: https://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?group=libtool has some patches that 
seem to be for bugs already solved in the last git version, you may want 
to recheck this.

Thanks for the reminder about the patch. I went ahead and merged it in,
so it will be fixed in the next release.
