It works for me and there haven't been other reports so there must be something unusual about your set up. It may be that there are just too many completions for Emacs to handle. What happens if you do the same on the command line? Do you get something like: (gdb) b Display all 20954 possibilities? (y or n) If not then could you send details of the gdb command and program that you are using. You must keep the "--annotate=3" in the command expression in the mini-buffer for GDB Graphical Interface to work for both Emacs 22 and Emacs 23. Emacs 21 uses a different option ("--fullname") but this doesn't get displayed in the mini-buffer.
