$ cat .dired
Local Variables:
dired-actual-switches: "-latog"
dired-omit-mode: t
End:
$ emacs -Q
Then load library dired-x
Then invoke dired.
Then when it asks you about local variables hit C-g.
Then invoke dired again.
Notice how now instead of dired-ing the directory, you are now just
looking at the .dired file contents.
One would expect the same behavior as at the first invocation of dired.
