I think `minibuffer-default-add-completions' as the value of `minibuffer-default-add-function' is useful for a list of buffers for buffer-reading commands because there are ordered by recency. For most other commands, completions are unordered, so perhaps we should set `minibuffer-default-add-function' to `minibuffer-default-add-completions' only for buffer-reading commands. -- Juri Linkov http://www.jurta.org/emacs/ From unknown Sun Jun 22 04:28:57 2025 X-Loop: bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org Subject: bug#5214: 23.1; M-x C-p C-p ... showing strange history elements Reply-To: Juri Linkov , 5214@debbugs.gnu.org Mail-Followup-To: Juri Linkov , 5214@debbugs.gnu.org Resent-From: Juri Linkov Original-Sender: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Resent-To: owner@debbugs.gnu.org Resent-CC: bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org Resent-Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2009 00:39:01 +0000 Resent-Message-ID: Resent-Sender: bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org X-Emacs-PR-Message: followup 5214 X-Emacs-PR-Package: emacs X-Emacs-PR-Keywords: Received: via spool by 5214-submit@debbugs.gnu.org id=B5214.12622199113046 (code B ref 5214); Thu, 31 Dec 2009 00:39:01 +0000 Received: (at 5214) by debbugs.gnu.org; 31 Dec 2009 00:38:31 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1] helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from ) id 1NQ93f-0000n5-Kh for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Wed, 30 Dec 2009 19:38:31 -0500 Received: from smtp-out4.starman.ee ([85.253.0.6] helo=mx2.starman.ee) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from ) id 1NQ93R-0000mv-Fr for 5214@emacsbugs.donarmstrong.com; Wed, 30 Dec 2009 19:38:30 -0500 X-Virus-Scanned: by Amavisd-New at mx2.starman.ee Received: from mail.starman.ee (82.131.30.172.cable.starman.ee [82.131.30.172]) by mx2.starman.ee (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4CA5A3F40C6; Thu, 31 Dec 2009 02:38:04 +0200 (EET) From: Juri Linkov To: ams@gnu.org Organization: JURTA References: <87zl5l8ccl.fsf@mail.jurta.org> <877hsp6wxw.fsf@mail.jurta.org> <87bpi1152t.fsf@mail.jurta.org> Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2009 02:35:39 +0200 In-Reply-To: (Alfred M. Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list, and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group. Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: M-x C-p C-p ... shows strange entries, even with -Q, e.g. quail-show-keyboard-layout makefile-makepp-mode plain-tex-mode shell-dynamic-complete-command update-autoloads-from-directories php-mode ... If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger, please include the output from the following gdb commands: `bt full' and `xbacktrace'. If you would like to further debug the crash, please read the file /usr/share/emacs/23.1/etc/DEBUG for instructions.
