Subject: error when doing a time stamp in org with no newline after heading
Date: Tue, 05 Oct 2021 05:14:03 +0000
  What happened:
Recording a time stamp when you don't have a newline after the org
heading will: error with [1], split the window and insert the state
above the heading. If you have a heading above, it will insert the
state under that heading.

[1] Error in post-command-hook (org-add-log-note): (user-error "Before first headline at position 1 in buffer test")

  What I thought would happen:
It would insert the state info under the current heading.
  (In this example 'testheading')

  To reproduce:
1. emacs -Q
(setq org-todo-keywords
   '((sequence "REPORT(r!)")))
2. M-x eval-buffer <RET>
3. C-x b test <RET>
4. M-x org-mode <RET>
5. * testheading
6. C-c C-t r
