Subject: 26.3; Add `Look Up Symbol (Code Name) in Manual' to Help > Search
 Documentation menu
Date: Thu, 23 Sep 2021 14:50:07 +0000
Enhancement request.

Please consider adding a menu item for `C-h S' (`info-lookup-symbol') to
the Help > Search Documentation menu-bar menu.

The menu-item name is up to you. Using "Symbol" in the name has
advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantage: it likely won't be clear to
some what's meant. Advantage: trying it is a good way to discover what
"symbol" means for Emacs.

In GNU Emacs 26.3 (build 1, x86_64-w64-mingw32)

It can be copied from the recently added elisp-context-menu.

Dunno what that is.

How is what you want to do different from just
binding `C-h S' to the new menu item?

(Is this only about picking up a default value
for `C-h S' from somewhere? If so, point is
the place to pick it up, not the mouse pointer
in the menu.)

Good idea -- it'll make the very useful `C-h S' command more
discoverable. So I've now added this in Emacs 28.
