Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug.  If you can, give

If I start emacs and evaluate the following code

(setq message-send-mail-function 'smtpmail-send-it
      send-mail-function  'smtpmail-send-it
      smtpmail-default-smtp-server "www.tnei.co.uk")

and then M-x load-library tramp I get the following tracback
