Is this in "emacs -Q"? If not, could you try to find the minimum set
of customizations that cause this?

If you can spot what notmuch does to break emacsclient, please tell.
Alternatively, how about reporting this to notmuch developers?

Thanks Eli,

It must be some melpa package that causes my issue. Can you suggest a
debug approach please? Using emacs -Q --daemon enables emacsclient -t
to work again.

I think I misspoke as emacs -Q with fresh compile of
LATEST-notmuch-0.32.2.tar.xz is still working with emacsclient -t.

I will keep looking elsewhere.

With no package changes and using CTRL-x-5-0 over time I see with
emacsclient -t

emacsclient -c still working fine? Any suggestions how I can further
debug this?

Sorry, I don't think I follow. Please show the recipe for reproducing
the problem step by step, starting from "emacs -Q".

* emacs -Q --daemon
* in the scratch buffer (add-to-list 'load-path "~/tools/share/emacs/site-lisp")
  use CTRL-x-CTRL-e
* emacsclient -t
* scratch buffer (autoload 'notmuch "notmuch" "Notmuch mail" t)
* M-x notmuch
* read some email
* CTRL-x-5-0
* emacsclient -t

and repeat the emacsclient -t cycle after pulling in or deleting email
using mbsync.

When I first was blocked I have been using the starter kit below:

https://github.com/larstvei/dot-emacs

but even with this out I still was blocked using the emacs -Q --daemon;
emacsclient -t and adding notmutch.

Sorry if I am making a mess of my request.

It now seems like I can no longer reproduce this issue Eli. Please
ignore my request at this point. Thank you for your time.

This is bug#49877, I think.
