I've checked a fix for this into the trunk, which involves changing x_draw_glyph_string so that the underline (and overline) is not extended into the end-of-line padding. This is similar to the behavior of strike-through. ------------=_1245636312-5763-1 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit >From cyd@stupidchicken.com Thu Jun 26 14:43:58 2008 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.2.3-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (2007-08-08) on rzlab.ucr.edu X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-4.5 required=4.0 tests=AWL,BAYES_00, RCVD_IN_DNSWL_MED autolearn=ham version=3.2.3-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 Received: (at submit) by emacsbugs.donarmstrong.com; 26 Jun 2008 21:43:58 +0000 Received: from fencepost.gnu.org (fencepost.gnu.org [140.186.70.10]) by rzlab.ucr.edu (8.13.8/8.13.8/Debian-3) with ESMTP id m5QLhtks019271 for ; Thu, 26 Jun 2008 14:43:56 -0700 Received: from mx10.gnu.org ([199.232.76.166]:58735) by fencepost.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.67) (envelope-from ) id 1KBzFp-0004hW-Ny for emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org; Thu, 26 Jun 2008 17:43:45 -0400 Received: from Debian-exim by monty-python.gnu.org with spam-scanned (Exim 4.60) (envelope-from ) id 1KBzFw-0004S1-Bo for emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org; Thu, 26 Jun 2008 17:43:54 -0400 Received: from cyd.mit.edu ([18.115.2.24]:39364) by monty-python.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.60) (envelope-from ) id 1KBzFv-0004Rn-GN for emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org; Thu, 26 Jun 2008 17:43:51 -0400 Received: by cyd.mit.edu (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 284AA4E474; Thu, 26 Jun 2008 17:39:02 -0400 (EDT) From: Chong Yidong To: emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org Subject: Mouse highlighting bug Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2008 17:39:02 -0400 Message-ID: <87hcbfdgg9.fsf@stupidchicken.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii X-detected-kernel: by monty-python.gnu.org: Linux 2.6 (newer, 2) There seems to be a bug is how mouse-face highlighting handles extending faces to the end of the line: (global-set-key [f1] (lambda () (interactive) (switch-to-buffer "asdf") (erase-buffer) (insert "123456\n890") (put-text-property 4 9 'mouse-face 'highlight) (put-text-property 4 9 'face (list :underline t)))) Put the mouse over the region with mouse-highlight, then remove it.
