and the precise symptoms of the bug:

1. Emacs -q
2. (setq save-interprogram-paste-before-kill t)
3. Highlight some region and hit M-w

You should hear a beap and then a message in the echo area `` Quit:
"empty or unsupported pasteboard type" ''.
