Since I've not heard anything back from anyone I've pushed this to
master. If there still are any problems, please reply and we can
reopen the bug report.

This may be somehow related with bug#40200.

- cp ~/.emacs ~/.emacs.bak
- echo "(desktop-save-mode 1)" > ~/.emacs
- emacs &
- maximize frame via native window button
- C-x C-c (desktop is saved with maximized frame)
- emacs &
- newly launched emacs's frame maximizes and immediately hangs

Killing with USR2 gives this not very useful backtrace:

Debugger entered--entering a function:
* #f(compiled-function () #<bytecode -0x19af9e136c1bd367>)()
  normal-top-level()

Also, while creating recipe, I tried emacs -q -fs, but it doesn't seem
to work.  Should I file a separate bug report, or is this by design?
