The NEWS file says: *** The Lisp Debugger is now based on 'backtrace-mode'. Backtrace mode adds fontification and commands for changing the appearance of backtrace frames. See the node "(elisp) Backtraces" in the Elisp manual for documentation of the new mode and its commands. The reference to the info node has a typo (trailing s) and isn't helpful. NOTE: This may be related to other window management issues that I've been having since the upgrade: Additional windows are now being created when in the past they would be re-used, and windows are seemingly randomly being marked dedicated (see separate future bug report). =2D- hkp://keys.gnupg.net CA45 09B5 5351 7C11 A9D1 7286 0036 9E45 1595 8BC0 From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Fri May 07 02:23:51 2021 Received: (at 48270) by debbugs.gnu.org; 7 May 2021 06:23:51 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:42023 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1lettu-0006gi-Uo for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Fri, 07 May 2021 02:23:51 -0400 Received: from eggs.gnu.org ([209.51.188.92]:34794) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1lettt-0006gc-KT for 48270@debbugs.gnu.org; Fri, 07 May 2021 02:23:49 -0400 Received: from fencepost.gnu.org ([2001:470:142:3::e]:43766) by eggs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.90_1) (envelope-from ) id 1letto-0003AC-AI; Fri, 07 May 2021 02:23:44 -0400 Received: from 84.94.185.95.cable.012.net.il ([84.94.185.95]:1473 helo=home-c4e4a596f7) by fencepost.gnu.org with esmtpsa (TLS1.2:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.86_2) (envelope-from ) id 1lettn-00030z-Nf; Fri, 07 May 2021 02:23:44 -0400 Date: Fri, 07 May 2021 09:23:37 +0300 Message-Id: <83h7jfcb9y.fsf@gnu.org> From: Eli Zaretskii To: Boruch Baum In-Reply-To: <20210506233305.5qnr327pljvn4sff@E15-2016.optimum.net> (message from Boruch Baum on Thu, 6 May 2021 19:33:05 -0400) Subject: Re: bug#48270: 27.1: Backtrace buffer behavior change References: <20210506233305.5qnr327pljvn4sff@E15-2016.optimum.net> X-Spam-Score: -2.3 (--) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 48270 Cc: 48270@debbugs.gnu.org X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -3.3 (---) > Date: Thu, 6 May 2021 19:33:05 -0400 > From: Boruch Baum > > *** The Lisp Debugger is now based on 'backtrace-mode'. > Backtrace mode adds fontification and commands for changing the > appearance of backtrace frames. Isn't helpful because of the typo, or because the contents of that node has problems? Anyway, I don't see any typo here: there is indeed a node called "Backtraces" in the ELisp manual. Is it possible that you have some stale or modified manual installed? Otherwise I don't understand why you say there's a typo.
