The build.xml is auto-generated by our ant-build-system. So we could add some parameter into it. But I found this too much of an overkill, and working on the ant-build-system would mean this goes into staging (we have too many Java package). Thus, at first I thought the idea with the additional phase wouldn't fit here. But at the second glimpse: The build.xml file definitely already exists before running the tests (even before build). So we could add a phase that substitutestars and adds the maxmemory parameter in the build.xml. I first tested it with maxmemory=3D"1M" and this fails with a OOM-error on my pc, thus I knew this setting is really honored. Now I set it to 2G and sent a patch under commit: 23dcf4339d1dc102b2c509a151734f4caff793bd And it works now on Berlin: https://ci.guix.gnu.org/build/361691/details Closing. Bj=C3=B6rn PS: While looking at the Cuirass logs, I remembered the other memory-problem we head, it was with java-kafka-clients: https://ci.guix.gnu.org/build/361612/details https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=3D40554 At first sight, we could try the same trick here. I will investigate this in the next week, if not someone else is quicker. --Sig_/pAAiqhb9mHMYGNWOV6OZLbc Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iF0EAREKAB0WIQQiGUP0np8nb5SZM4K/KGy2WT5f/QUCYDrV1wAKCRC/KGy2WT5f /QSqAJ9Ta8QzkA2OwTMlCfXGs1qS4cmiRgCguF9PNtECPMeHt1I2plo1l7XXaAs= =WW4A -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Sig_/pAAiqhb9mHMYGNWOV6OZLbc-- From debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Mon Mar 01 05:56:19 2021 Received: (at 46780-done) by debbugs.gnu.org; 1 Mar 2021 10:56:19 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:48241 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1lGgDr-00082H-AB for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Mon, 01 Mar 2021 05:56:19 -0500 Received: from mail-wr1-f53.google.com ([209.85.221.53]:42589) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1lGgDp-000821-21 for 46780-done@debbugs.gnu.org; Mon, 01 Mar 2021 05:56:17 -0500 Received: by mail-wr1-f53.google.com with SMTP id j2so2769973wrx.9 for <46780-done@debbugs.gnu.org>; Mon, 01 Mar 2021 02:56:16 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=20161025; h=from:to:cc:subject:in-reply-to:references:date:message-id :mime-version:content-transfer-encoding; bh=dP6oSkuD93IiN6e0YXNJblbYBpMCPidohpowbhlmf78=; b=Ij3kQc4lr7uHPFRFsM+XOAuV8oxKuNXuK4PCOWvJvhe7x9b04sYoVEzmfZTydpR/LZ Sv+K3kzgafq3UTG4SdMJoG4AzZCW/BY+UJKyUBdizpft5Fv0Ec9dYxhQ6J//7KZvrB1c w/mMhdE9jL8TXlSgiKE0gT3C52GaqwtIhnAHj5D/RNC7JI0oeJ1EIYiAiwRVAWWSFfwM 1pCyIWV5Bp7uq/fD8cjrnrwnV9dex7ZMNGm5dmPFQytzoeAkWyHZt8Y0hCc5qjNpg7XI 0SkfvODkKa9zUFkUNsrvvnqQtX+gHOYCJXDERpxOWwhrPAUXEHo50TZ0Zqi9b0ZMO1YW AQAA== X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:from:to:cc:subject:in-reply-to:references:date :message-id:mime-version:content-transfer-encoding; bh=dP6oSkuD93IiN6e0YXNJblbYBpMCPidohpowbhlmf78=; b=VwJ7w5n8jmavZ/Xqn0WX7S385kmZR6cOyyaY7FgVibN8jqPZCWTWt5tFA6APjMdTao AOQ5KLmWrjB5EprAfrLkpPqn8s4BXcEcgnUvxcVOnExyfhA3LxoZeYJnw8/HicDdYR2X 8fmyAl4TKlvp0s8J7K/35nyAjMss3qHrf0qB3aLaDS4IRySXbu8l1Pd6zyC5DDOJwIuc uP2cKFOJQF+m6BuwaZHy+11Naomspzug+Sx52nYxlD9HAdLNRzAIlBnTD/OI8m50QbF6 F2ZfQGAMiUyKme8ZeRS9BYh8UHc7AuEYgmRqgBGBDc/I8cvjrEPxw4tqfVxS5GdWwX3R 8ogg== X-Gm-Message-State: AOAM533eYPAhoPTulB5fvJFLFHuxzKR/z1okdGt5O5tIzIYu3otHrbPe cjZXgo4+aQan9/uZuWmzuTG8x8B0ckY= X-Google-Smtp-Source: ABdhPJzf8QSrBta+A/lKLwt4Fz7XfE8LmJiE1W7KQ9SNr9XjaGNxqBCcMQXq2UkP/ljP1r2EoOg8Fw== X-Received: by 2002:a05:6000:100f:: with SMTP id a15mr16173478wrx.212.1614596171134; Mon, 01 Mar 2021 02:56:11 -0800 (PST) Received: from lili ([2a01:e0a:59b:9120:65d2:2476:f637:db1e]) by smtp.gmail.com with ESMTPSA id m17sm3961295wrx.92.2021.03.01.02.56.10 (version=TLS1_3 cipher=TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 bits=256/256); Mon, 01 Mar 2021 02:56:10 -0800 (PST) From: zimoun To: =?utf-8?Q?Bj=C3=B6rn_H=C3=B6fling?= Subject: Re: bug#46780: java-snappy: Test failure on ci.guix.gnu.org In-Reply-To: <20210228002927.0d14cc92@alma-ubu> References: <20210225215245.4e34edcf@alma-ubu.fritz.box> <864khy1nyt.fsf@gmail.com> <20210227145847.3c0f5baf@alma-ubu> <20210228002927.0d14cc92@alma-ubu> Date: Mon, 01 Mar 2021 11:50:34 +0100 Message-ID: <86eegz9mh1.fsf@gmail.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Spam-Score: 0.0 (/) X-Debbugs-Envelope-To: 46780-done Cc: 46780-done@debbugs.gnu.org X-BeenThere: debbugs-submit@debbugs.gnu.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18 Precedence: list List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: debbugs-submit-bounces@debbugs.gnu.org Sender: "Debbugs-submit" X-Spam-Score: -1.0 (-) Hi, On Sun, 28 Feb 2021 at 00:29, Bj=C3=B6rn H=C3=B6fling wrote: > I first tested it with maxmemory=3D"1M" and this fails with a OOM-error > on my pc, thus I knew this setting is really honored. > > Now I set it to 2G and sent a patch under commit: > > 23dcf4339d1dc102b2c509a151734f4caff793bd > > And it works now on Berlin: > > https://ci.guix.gnu.org/build/361691/details > > Closing.
