I have also tried the mingw.org 32bit toolchain (i686-pc-mingw32) when
configured with with "--with-nativecomp --with-wide-int", and that
works.

Thus this bug seems to be a problem with the MSYS2 mingw32 32bit
toolchain (i686-w64-mingw32) only.
