See upon doing
$ emacs -f gnus +99999 /cf/updates/hhh.txt&
like I do every day, but it turns out this day was after a crash.
https://www.jidanni.org/comp/configuration/ has my settings.
emacs-version "27.1"

I would have missed the message, if it weren't for a quick eye.

Yup.  But this has been fixed in Emacs 28 -- it'll wait a while before
covering up the auto-save message.
