Rationale: for speech output users, when the cursor moves to the beginning of a line the screen reader typically reads out the whole line. Having several completions on the same line read at once is confusing. Note: the same result can be achieved by reformatting the completions buffer in a completion-setup-hook but it would be much easier to just customize completions-format Nicolas From unknown Fri Jun 20 20:10:11 2025 X-Loop: help-debbugs@gnu.org Subject: bug#43283: feature request: new value for completions-format Resent-From: Lars Ingebrigtsen Original-Sender: "Debbugs-submit" Resent-CC: bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org Resent-Date: Mon, 06 Jun 2022 16:18:02 +0000 Resent-Message-ID: Resent-Sender: help-debbugs@gnu.org X-GNU-PR-Message: followup 43283 X-GNU-PR-Package: emacs X-GNU-PR-Keywords: To: Nicolas Graner Cc: 43283@debbugs.gnu.org Received: via spool by 43283-submit@debbugs.gnu.org id=B43283.16545322771171 (code B ref 43283); Mon, 06 Jun 2022 16:18:02 +0000 Received: (at 43283) by debbugs.gnu.org; 6 Jun 2022 16:17:57 +0000 Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1]:36564 helo=debbugs.gnu.org) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1nyFQS-0000Ip-Sa for submit@debbugs.gnu.org; Mon, 06 Jun 2022 12:17:57 -0400 Received: from quimby.gnus.org ([95.216.78.240]:42002) by debbugs.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1nyFQR-0000IR-HI for 43283@debbugs.gnu.org; Mon, 06 Jun 2022 12:17:56 -0400 DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; q=dns/txt; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gnus.org; s=20200322; h=Content-Type:MIME-Version:Message-ID:In-Reply-To:Date: References:Subject:Cc:To:From:Sender:Reply-To:Content-Transfer-Encoding: Content-ID:Content-Description:Resent-Date:Resent-From:Resent-Sender: Resent-To:Resent-Cc:Resent-Message-ID:List-Id:List-Help:List-Unsubscribe: List-Subscribe:List-Post:List-Owner:List-Archive; bh=3447Ppsw0OQ4wm9cspBUXJsuQka2sJXUxiYWXt0v11A=; b=eF3I+sVYNGObMAX+0Ti5XonVc0 4aDhVXBqwy80voBTrGcNe/lSBUrBc4jxzsUhF3Wx5et0oSvT9ctmjb3WNR5xnVPXHrhnmL6W05q8q bw37EBu6Ha+yrKEf/3q/JPyHGtzvbCTpq/sRxBAW3rCldOaAAyaqdYHXGNUudIKLQpfU=; Received: from [84.212.220.105] (helo=xo) by quimby.gnus.org with esmtpsa (TLS1.3:ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384:256) (Exim 4.92) (envelope-from ) id 1nyFQH-0005HR-R1; Mon, 06 Jun 2022 18:17:48 +0200 From: Lars Ingebrigtsen References: <86363sxnds.fsf@hypra-xx> X-Now-Playing: Vilde & Inga's _How Forests Think_: "=?UTF-8?Q?=C2=B7=C2=B7=C2=B7?= X" Date: Mon, 06 Jun 2022 18:17:43 +0200 In-Reply-To: <86363sxnds.fsf@hypra-xx> (Nicolas Graner's message of "Tue, 08 Sep 2020 18:07:59 +0200") Message-ID: <87bkv5sr4o.fsf@gnus.org> User-Agent: Gnus/5.13 (Gnus v5.13) Emacs/29.0.50 (gnu/linux) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain X-Spam-Report: Spam detection software, running on the system "quimby.gnus.org", has NOT identified this incoming email as spam.
